Vézelay
Vezelay is a small town in [wiki=4bc1ce0baf7066f0613bed557adf60d7]Burgundy[/wiki], a region of [wiki=0309a6c666a7a803fdb9db95de71cf01]France[/wiki] which is southeast of [wiki=e20d37a5d7fcc4c35be6fc18a8e71bfa]Paris[/wiki] and north of [wiki=debecab907ccabee0bc672b9fa1cab8a]Lyon[/wiki]. Its location is on top of a high hill. Its main claim to fame is as the home of a stupendous early Gothic cathedral, widely considered one of the greatest in Burgundy. A beautiful panorama of the surrounding Burgundian countryside is visible from the area to the right of the back of the cathedral.
