Rathvilly is a small village of 1,000 people in north east Carlow, near the [wiki=fa53b2a750ba7a7b5bc5a627b6211b6e]Kildare[/wiki] and [wiki=c815bd8618ab62d0ff8c37e08ae3e632]Wicklow[/wiki] borders. The town is renowned for its well-kept appearance and charming character, which has earned the town many awards in the national Tidy Towns competition, including winning the competition outright three times in the 1960s.
