“I've been to my fair share of Hampton Inn's and this was near the bottom. In a busy area like Charlotte, I'd expect them to keep up with renovations a little better. Several areas of the hotel itself are showing its age as well as in our room. We had room 408 which was conveniently located right next to the elevator (no elevator noise was heard). Note that the digital key would not work with this room. The employee in the lobby tried giving me a couple new digital keys that would never work. Once I had physical keys, even they weren't wanting to work correctly half the time. Once in the room, the floors were in rough shape, the mattress was not comfortable (I thought they all had the same mattresses honestly but this one was not great), there were visible cracks and things in the walls, only one side of the bed had usable outlets, and to top it off - the handle for the water temperature in the shower was backwards.
The elevator was pretty clunky. It made several interesting noises while we used it and even in the elevator there was cracked plastic over the operating license or whatever, not all the floors lit up on the display, and the sticker on the door was faded and peeling.
Breakfast was just as good as other Hampton Inn's, so that was nice. The front desk staff was friendly and smiling. Parking and location were a plus, there are a lot of things close.
Overall this was a disappointing stay and it could use some attention before it's beyond repair.”

“UPDATED-BEWARE this hotel does NOT have any security cameras in their parking lot. We stayed at this location Sunday (9-18-22) and 5 vehicles were broken into. Talking to the staff and managers, this is a consistent problem and they said they were aware of it. They are so aware of the problem that they have security, but ONLY on Friday and Saturday nights. So if you stay at this hotel on any other day, you are AT RISK! I understand that break-ins happen, but when you are aware and do NOTHING, that is not acceptable. The hotel knowing about this and not providing security is negligence.
The police office that took the report told us he does these types of reports all of the time and the hotels that have cameras and security have MUCH fewer issues. Even this hotel KNOWS they have a problem because they hired security. Looks like the thieves now know there is not anything standing between them and vehicles Sunday-Thursday.
So you may wonder...what did the hotel do to help? Not a thing other than an apology. The GM (Christopher) was very nice and apologetic, but said he was told to do nothing but offer assistance to the police by his supervisor. I am SHOCKED that a Hilton brand hotel would do NOTHING when they know they have a security issue.
Cameras...too expensive. Security...too expensive. Guests safety...too expensive. This hotel has made a choice to NOT protect their guests. I hope the other folks who had thousands of dollars in damages will leave similar reviews. Maybe corporate will do something when occupancy falls because people know the hotel is NOT safe.”
