“READ MY REVIEW CAREFULLY - YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED: If I could give no star I would. BE AWARE: This hotel is NOT going to provide the same services as they advertise. I have been to many all-inclusive, luxury resorts, but this place while they charge you like one, they definitely don't meet the definition of neither all-inclusive, nor luxury. My wife and I paid over $3,300 for our 4 night stay through Travelocity and when we arrived, the room had a horrible musty (moldy and mildew) smell. It was so strong that we immediately went to the front desk, they knew exactly what we were talking about, so they changed our room, only to find that even the second room was the same. It took us a third try to find a room that wasn't as bad. Moving past this issue, there is NO ROOM SERVICE at all. They advertise 24/7 room service but it's untrue. Pool side bar: Closed, 4 out of 5 restaurants, not in service and closed. Long story short, at RIU the only thing similar to an all-inclusive resort, is the hefty $$$$ that you pay. Everything else is equivalent to a cheap motel. Did I mention their so-called entertainment? Oh, it's just a guy playing music videos off YouTube. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT book at Riu. Your trip will be full of disappointment and you will regret all the money you paid. My wife and I, tried as hard as we could to ask for a credit/compensation, for this outright FRAUD by Riu and we only realized that Travelocity is providing a platform for Riu to commit this fraud. There is very little customers can do. But I have spoken to the Travelocity, since my booking was through them, and if I am not offered compensation, I will most certainly bring forth a law-suit. It's NOT fair at all.”

“I liked it. Clean, friendly staff, food was as good as buffet standards go. The beach, pool and I rarely ever had to wait for a drink. I was handed a towel card from another RIU location (without noticing) and went to submit it for a new towel and got into an argument with the staff member who did not speak English and could not understand what I was saying. Another staff member had to intervene and explain to the other staff member. I was able to get a towel and was not charged a fee. ”
