Palangkaraya is the capital of [wiki=e3ab8aa9a72078b985b0e2d406df5c2e]Central Kalimantan[/wiki] ([wiki=0e15258bb2e790a0833ed79feeee342d]Central Borneo[/wiki]), a province lies in the heart of [wiki=4647d00cf81f8fb0ab80f753320d0fc9]Indonesia[/wiki]. This city is situated between Sebangau River and Kahayan River. The city had a population of 220,962 inhabitants at the 2010 Census, with an average population density of 92.1 per km² (Indonesian Population Census 2010 results). Prior to decentralization in 2001, Palangkaraya had two administrative districts, namely: Pahandut and Bukit Batu. Now, Palangkaraya consists of five administrative districts: Pahandut, Jekan Raya, Bukit Batu, Sebangau, and Rakumpit.
