“Rubens at the palace is the best place you can stay in London! The staff here is incredible! Everyone I came across was so kind and had a smile on their face. I feel that every staff member took the time to talk to all the guest and get to know who was staying at their hotel. The breakfast is amazing!!!! You feel like royalty as you sit in these huge comfy chairs in the most beautiful dining area. The food is so tasty and all the juice is so fresh! The Ruben is a short walking distance from Buckingham Palace and is in the most convenient location. You can walk everywhere from here but there is also an underground station just a couple minute walk away. I truly feel that our stay at the Ruben is what helped to make our trip to London so unforgettable! I already want to plan another trip back!”

“This was a fantastic place to stop off for a cup of tea. From the second we spoke to someone on the door, we received first class service in an opulent and interesting hotel. The place is clean, and feel like luxury. When we went we had some English breakfast tea and some peppermint tea. Both were stunningly delicious, and I thought the peppermint tea might well have been the best I’ve ever had, and I tend to drink a lot of nice teas. I would absolutely come back here.”

Where to start! Me and my girlfriend stayed here as a special occasion close to Christmas. Boy were we in for a surprise, we’d upgraded our room but the room we were given was well below the standards of a 5* hotel. The room was situated at a junction between 3 corridors, so people would walk past at all hours of the day slamming the corridor doors. The walls were as thin as paper too so we could hear everything from the other rooms. As for the room itself, it was drab, dreary and dated. The room was incredibly dark and half the lights didn’t work, paint was peeling, the carpet was stained and looked 50yrs old and the room was much worse than ones at a 3* hotel, the room didn’t even come with a mini bar.
As for the bathroom, this is where things get interesting. The plumbing in the hotel seems to be very poor, both the sink and toilet were blocked during our stay. We only found this out around 10pm when we used the loo, we went down to reception to report this and request a change of rooms. We were told no rooms were available (this was untrue as you could book a room at the hotel online), we were also told there was no one available to fix the toilet. The staff at the hotel agreed to refund us for our stay but this refund hasn’t been received yet, they have told our travel agent that they changed our room which is a lie.
Only good thing about this place is the breakfast which was lovely, but the portion sizes are very small and for the price you are paying not worth it!

My wife and I Stayed from Aug 23 to Aug 27. We were met at the front door by a lovely gentleman in a top hat who took care of our bags. The front desk staff were very welcoming and friendly, the check-in was fast and painless. The restaurant staff was top notch, always pleasant and congenial, The room was smallish as most of the older hotels are, but lovely and very clean. Overall was one of the very best stays that we have had on a hotel. Thank you too everyone who works there for making our stay so wonderful.

The hotel is excellent, a small boutique hotel with a fabulous staff - starting with the doorman, the front desk crew, bartenders and waiters, what a great staff. The breakfast was fabulous and the dining room is gorgeous. We had a nice size room, decorated in red and white, super comfortable bed with a cozy comforter. The restaurant next door had some of the best soup I've ever had, and it's great to sit outside and people watch for a bit. The hotel is in a really great location close to Victoria Station, Buckingham Palace, lots of other places close by to have a drink or dinner. We will definitely stay again.
