“I was expecting more from a hotel that positions itself as a 5-star. The hotel is nice, but not a 5 star in my view. The highlight is the facilities and its structure, good location, specially if you rented a car and in a historical building with cared gardens and nice pool. The food and kitchen service was the downside. The staff is mostly very nice and proactive. The breakfast is nice. The pool bar is average and expensive, it takes a lot of time to be served (1 person serving too many people when I was there), food took 70+ minutes to come (simple pasta with red sauce from kid’s menu) and the food was not super good. The dinner for me was a big disappointment, very expensive and the food was really average. Way better to go outside of the hotel. We had the unfortunate situation that we went for dinner at the same time of a wedding that was happening in the hotel and the service was horrible, it took ages for the food to come (50+ minutes again) and some options were not available due the wedding (like for example a basic mashed potatoes from the kid’s menu). They were clearly prioritizing the wedding over the “normal” guests which was really disappointing. If you are vegetarian or vegan, this is not a place for you. The options are extremely limited and not at all tasty. I expected more from a 5 star hotel.”
