The main attraction of Cayo Largo is that there are very few attractions.

Almost all excursions (offered through guests' package-tour companies) are related to scuba, snorkelling, fishing, visiting small nearby islets etc.

On the island itself, the village where the Marina is located has a sea-turtle hatchery, Casa del Habano cigar store, small bowling alley, bank, gift shop, tiny museum (ask Villa Marinera hotel front desk about access) and a plaza with souvenir vendors. In the hotel zone is a nursery with a pet iguana and crocodile.

La Yana, a tree reputed to be over 600 years old, is located on the road between the hotel zone and Playa Paraiso.

Otherwise, it's all beaches, beaches and more beaches, many of them remote and with absolutely no facilities, and so with very few visitors.

Playa Sirena is the largest and most popular off-resort beach. It has a full range of services, including restaurant, bar, toilets, changing area, on-beach bar service, lounge chairs and non-motorized water sports.
