Samara is a major railway junction and almost all trains connecting with [wiki=7a2c6a6ceb9241963e51d8454e2c91aa]Siberia[/wiki] and [wiki=49722bf45fe3d7362f1495ddc5a982be]Russian Far East[/wiki] calls here. There are atleast five departures every day from Moscow, including the Zhiguli branded deluxe train. Journey times varies between 14-20 hours depending on which train. Another branded train is avalible from Saint Petersburg every second day taking just over 23 hours. Most other major cities in central Russia also have overnight trains to Samara. The once-weekly Sibirjak train originating in [wiki=ee1611b61f5688e70c12b40684dbb395]Berlin[/wiki] calls here, a neat journey of four nights. It's also possible to get on this train in [wiki=ab014f5797b79c42d078976b9d1a413c]Warsaw[/wiki] and [wiki=8787a878258ef18bb38d9163f41b846c]Minsk[/wiki].
A cheaper alternative is to travel by over-night buses which are avalible from nearby cities such [wiki=c9068eee1dc60fff1f00a053d795ed68]Nizhny Novgorod[/wiki], Perm and Moscow.
If traveling by own car, Samara is along the M5 Highway, also known as Ural Highway. Distance from Moscow is just over 1000 km.
