“This is a unique hotel at one end of dwtn Columbia. A bar downstairs and outdoor area with tvs and a smoking section. The rooms were comfortable, redone stylishly with a modernized retro flavor, very nice. Will definitely stay again”

“We didnt stay here but were walking back to the Marriot from the arena. We stopped at 3 places to get a drink and they were all closed..downtown at 1130pm on a friday night. Luckily we got to the bar downstairs at the right time just in time for last call. We waited and the bartender was extremely nice. That would be our own drink as the Marriot stopped serving at 1130. Might just stay here next time I'm in columbia.”

The room was great, the service amazing, but the hotel is placed in a party area and the rooms are not sound proof. It was a long night of loud people.

Good modern motel chain. Room was clean and the bartender was awesome. My only complaint is with the requests in the reservation. Requested highest floor and specific direction (more than a week in advance) and received neither. Receptionists at check in are hit or miss.

Marriott needs to take a closer look at customer service at this location. We are a long time Marriott customers and have stayed at several Marriott properties at downtown Columbia, SC and US. We are #Marriott Bonvoy members as well. We reserved a room through #Amex at this property. We called the same morning and confirmed our reservation with front desk to ensure checking in after the game would not be a problem. Front desk told us that we have to check in person but that our room is reserved and ready anytime we get there. We showed up at 1 am, and we were told that our reservation was cancelled by the General Manager in the afternoon, and did not know the reason. Only thing the front desk could tell us is that we reserved the room from a third party (#Expedia) and that our room was given to another person. Front desk had not intention of helping since the reservation was made through Amex/Expedia, even though we are Bonvoy members. We asked if they had any available rooms and he told us he did not know if they are rooms available until he runs a audit report. An hour and half later at 2:30 am he still did not know if any rooms were available. No attempt of calling any other Marriott properties until we asked and he called one. Just tried to look busy and saying he was trying to help but since we booked through third part there was nothing he can do. We called on our own and all hotels as far as Harbison were fully booked. We slept in the car that night. Will not stay at this location even if the rooms were free.
