The River Walk - There is a path along the Saranac River through most of the village.

The first building you will see on your walk is the Paul Smith's Electric Light and Power and Railroad Company Building. This building is on the National Register of Historic Places. Next to the Paul Smith building is the dam that creates the only lake in Saranac Lake, Lake Flower. Next to the dam is a small power house and next to that a very good Italian Joint. Across Mail Street is River Park, which has a band stand, the Saranac Lake Bears and where you can find a boat that will take you on a tour of the lake.

Following Main Street north you cross River Street which leads east to Lake Placid and west to Tupper Lake; the 2 other towns that make up the Tri-Lakes area. And you come to the Harriettstown Town Hall and its beautiful clock tower.
