Fair warning: parking is pretty bad around the beach, especially on the weekends. Every non residential street has marked (and metered) spaces and there are a couple of cramped parking garages. Despite this, one may have to search for a while to get a parking spot, and if you do it may be far away from where you intended to go at first. That can get further perturbed by the fact that there are pedestrians at every corner. If you are staying nearby, it is best to walk or ride a bike around the beach.
