The airport serves schedule and charter airline operations, is a base for search and rescue air services, and handles general aviation. It does not offer any domestic flights currently. Charter flights are mainly operated in winter to destinations in Ukraine and Russia. Medical flights, VIP flights, ad hoc charters and ACMI flight also operate from the airport.

This service is irregular, especially in winter. In front of the station in Zakopane, there is a bus stop with a sign that lists the times the bus leaves for Poprad; unfortunately it's in Polish, but it's not hard to figure out. If the service is not running, look for the drivers that stop in front of the bus station. Tell the driver you want to go to Poprad. Your best bet is to get enough people who want to go to make it worth the driver's while. Some locals are also going, so ask them if you can join them to form a group. The driver will drop you off at Łysa Polana (Łysa is pronounced Lwee-Sah in Polish), the border town between Poland and Slovakia. Wait for another bus to take you to Poprad (not long).

Bus: There is only one regular bus service from Poprad to [wiki=c0c476f443a40bee32bd31ce024e8f32]Zakopane[/wiki], Poland with company called Strama. If it's not running, try to get a bus to Lysa Polana, then another bus on to Zakopane. The bus usually does not run directly to Zakopane.

Train: There are good train connections to Bratislava, or to the rest of Slovakia.

Those heading to the nearby towns in [wiki=3082af037ccb47e6fb738fcf5a0b6b65]Vysoké Tatry[/wiki] (Smokovec, Tatranska Lomnica or Stbrske Pleso), the train (an electric tram) is convenient, quick and inexpensive. You can also take a taxi: a taxi from Poprad to Stary Smokovec costs around €8 and takes about half an hour.

For those heading to Budapest, Hungary, you have to change trains at Kosice. You just need to buy one ticket from Poprad to Budapest, and the change-over at Kosice is included in the Poprad-Budapest ticket, so there's no need to buy two separate tickets. When heading to Budapest, the train will stop at Kosice. Get off, and walk to another platform within the same station for the train heading to Budapest.
