RailThere is a small train station located at Kolodvorska cesta, west of the centre of town, with a ticket office which is open during normal office hours. It is served by regular trains running between [wiki=a606fe014370d8c520a07f30df46ef10]Ljubljana[/wiki] and [wiki=9ef02a672cb1d65aa8d2ee448d93c38b]Jesenice[/wiki]. There are also additional international trains (connecting to [wiki=0d630f309cd8eaead4c6693378f162fb]Villach[/wiki], Austria), which run approximately every 4 hours.
BusThe bus station is located where Bleiweisova cesta meets Stošičeva ulica. More information on buses can be found on the operator's website[http://www.alpetour.si/index.php?page=documents&item=164].
RoadThe city is 25km north-west from [wiki=a606fe014370d8c520a07f30df46ef10]Ljubljana[/wiki] on Hwy A2. There are 34 buses per day from Ljubljana, a one-way ticket costs 3.60 Euro.

By city busThere are 12 bus lines in Kranj. Most bus routes operate 6am - 6pm. During summer break (july - august) there are changed timetables. You can find timetables at [url=http://www.tourism-kranj.si/en/o_kranju/promet/avtobusni_prevozi.htm]Kranj's tourist information centre[/url].

You can buy the ticket on the bus or in central bus station (the adress is Stošičeva ulica 2). The ticket costs 1€ and it is valid for all the buses for the day of purchase. You can also purchase month ticket on the main bus station which costs 10€.
By taxiTaxis can be found outside of the central [wiki=c2daffc19a5e0b3081e050dc95438254]#Bus|bus[/wiki] station and the [wiki=dab2f8319b7f4283cc856ff41090376d]#Rail|railway[/wiki] station.

                              	You can find permanent exhibitions and collection in Khislstein. Especially during summer and [url=http://tm.ksk.si/tm14/]Teden mladih[/url] (in may) there are a lot of concerts in outside theatre in the castle. 

*  In the house where the greatest Slovene poet dr. France Prešeren (1800-1849) lived from autumn 1846 until 8th February 1849, was memorial museum opened on 8th February 1964. There is a permanent collection about poet's life and in the ground floor there is a gallery. 

* One of the main tourist attractions of the town.

* In the City Hall, the Renaissance Hall and three permanent exhibitions are put on show: the works of an academic sculptor Lojze Dolinar (1893-1970), the archaeological exhibition Iron Thread and the ethnological exhibition Folk Art in Gorenjska. The Kranj Art Society and the City Hall galleries are situated on the ground floor.

* There is a beautiful garden with nice view and a cafe in Layer's house. During weekends there are a lot of concerts and other events (you can check on their web page about it). You can visit museum room of slovenian painter Puhar, who invented photograpfy on glass. 

* The architect Jože Plečnik had planned to make a monumental entrance into the town. He transformed the steep slope into a staircase and replaced the former well (called “šterna”) with an obelisk, at the top of which there is a bronze rooster from which the water runs into stone, terraced vessels. The fountain is an interpretation of the Garden of Eden at Hradčany, Prague.

* Here you can find St. Fabian, St. Sebastian and St. Rok church and medieval defence tower dating back to the 16th century.

* Hike to Šmarjetna gora. From Stražišče(10 min from Kranj, take the bus 2, 3 or 4) it is 30 min till the top, where you can have a coffee and a nice view to Kranj.

* Hike to St. Jošt. From Stražišče (10 min from Kranj, take the bus 2, 3 or 4) it is 60 min till the top. There is St. Jošt church and a small restaurant.

                              	In the city are small shops, but out on the edge of town are more shopping centers. Every saturday and sunday till about 12 am there is a market in the old city (next to the St. Kancijan church). There are four shopping centres at the other side of the city:
