Most of the buses on the [wiki=f02c9ff80003cb756d97c0da65ed6cbd]Pan-american Highway[/wiki] from [wiki=0cb9cde516c38ed84dc1f3f2b5556ed3]Lima[/wiki] to [wiki=967f96d98b992e7efffc9116266e7dbc]Ica[/wiki], [wiki=b394f79fea373f99adf31fcbf498ca51]Nazca[/wiki], [wiki=171a98f4722267176bd0fe81f8980074]Arequipa[/wiki] etc. won't leave this road, dropping you of at the junction about 4 miles outside town, from where you can easily pick up a local bus or taxi (S./10 as of May 2014).
Some buses from [wiki=0cb9cde516c38ed84dc1f3f2b5556ed3]Lima[/wiki] (3-4hrs) do go in to town and there are local buses to [wiki=967f96d98b992e7efffc9116266e7dbc]Ica[/wiki].
You may be able to negotiate a taxi to take you from [wiki=0cb9cde516c38ed84dc1f3f2b5556ed3]Lima[/wiki] to Pisco for around 200 soles. This can be a lot more comfortable especially if you are going to arrive in the dark.
A few buses a day go to [wiki=b0da60ba07e003517a252713141456bc]Ayacucho[/wiki] in the Andes, passing the Inca ruins at Tambo Colorado 2 hours away. To get one of these buses you have to catch a taxi (10-12 Soles) up to San Clemente, a scruffy junction of a town; watch your bags. Two bus companies go to [wiki=b0da60ba07e003517a252713141456bc]Ayacucho[/wiki], but Molina is recommended over the other. It provides night service, with buses leaving at 11:30p, 12:00am and 12:30am. The trip takes 7 hours. For semi-cama service, 40 Soles.
