      If you are travelling from Trondheim, the coastal express is a good alternative. It will take you to Brekstad in about an hour.[url=https://www.atb.no/timetables/category349.html#route/64966]]Route 800 takes you from [[Trondheim[/url]] to Brekstad and onward to [wiki=f226cecd1582cd6b210e42fbe9a4d5e7]Kristiansund[/wiki]. The only downside is the cost. 224 NOK for adults and 112 NOK for children and students. Remember to bring your student ID if you are eligible for a discount.

      Despite the small size of the city there is a commercial airport at the air force base. The company arranging these flights is Air Norway [http://www.airnorway.no/frontpage.jsp?menuId=562] The plane is a small Fairchild Metro and is locally known as Angsttuben, due to its small size.

      To get to Brekstad by car, you can go by ferry, There is two alternatives; Brekstad-Valset [url=http://www.norled.no/uploads/documents/Ferjeruter/2014_Trondelag/Brekstad_Valset_010514.pdf]]or Flakk-Rørvik [http://reise2.fjord1.no/fjord1iisstatictables/tables/ruter/t/16-713.htm[/url]. If you take the Brekstad-Valset route you will have to drive to the ferry, but it docks in Brekstad. If you take the Flakk-Rørvik route, you can take the ferry from next to Trondheim, but you will have to drive from the ferry dock to Brekstad which takes about two hours. You can also drive around the fjord, which takes about four hours. You can also take these routes with bus.

    Ørland wetland center:
    It's supposed to be a base for scientists and informationscentral. it's naturguidens on wetmarks and the coast. to get there you can go by car over the fjord with the ferry or take the boat from Trondheim. Ørland wetland center is located in the boat terminal. they have open on days and sometimes they have events like starlooking. there you can see on stars, learn about zodiacs and galaxies.

    Austrått fortress:
    Austrått fortress consists of three canons who were built by the germans under second world war. To get there you can drive a car(8 minutes), rent a bike(19 minutes) or walk there(1 hour and 11 minutes). You can also hike from the Austrått lunden and up to the canon. There are picnik areas where you can eat and look at the view of Ørland.

    Austrått Castle:
    Austrått Castle is a castle in Ørland. Before restoration it was owned by Ingerd Ottersdotter. Later owned by Ove Bjelke. To get there you can Dive a car, cycling or go it takes 1 hour and 21 minutes to walk and by bike it take 22 minutes. You can get a guided tour through Austrått Castle. Austrått Castle have daily tours for audience every hour. From 1th of june too 15th of august.

    Austråttlunden- It is a beautiful grove with lots of different plants and ruins. You may follow the posts, and read the story about what has happened in the grove. There are 18 posts there, and the route is 3 kilometers. Rent a bike, and enjoy a wonderful hike to the grove. If you are lucky, you can run into multiple sheeps. Beware, the grove is filled with moose.
    *Ørlandsdagene- This is a local festival, where a tivoli and soccercup can be found. Stalls are standing down the streets, and sells stuff like candy and toys. It is usually in the middle of August, and last for a weekend.
