Kulusuk is a good place to see the Northern Lights. The natives of the area used to believe that the Northern Lights were the result of the souls of the dead playing with a walrus skull. If you travel outside of town (to get away from the light pollution) there are great vantage points to see the Northern Lights. *Note that the Northern Lights are not visible during the midnight sun in Kulusuk, which is present in the summer months in the region.
The glacier is not far from Kulusuk, and it is possible to visit the edge of the glacier by taking a short boat trip or helicopter ride. The boat trip may be suspended because of pack ice or iceberg warnings; weather can also be an issue for the trips.
