    There are few vehicles in Kulusuk. Walking is a great way to see the town. Bicycles can be hired at Hotel Kulusuk. Hotel Kulusuk offers free airport transfers. If you're not staying there you may have to walk from the airport to town; about a 40-minute walk.

    • Northern Lights

      Kulusuk is a good place to see the Northern Lights. The natives of the area used to believe that the Northern Lights were the result of the souls of the dead playing with a walrus skull. If you travel outside of town (to get away from the light pollution) there are great vantage points to see the Northern Lights. *Note that the Northern Lights are not visible during the midnight sun in Kulusuk, which is present in the summer months in the region.

    • Apusiajik Glacier

      The glacier is not far from Kulusuk, and it is possible to visit the edge of the glacier by taking a short boat trip or helicopter ride. The boat trip may be suspended because of pack ice or iceberg warnings; weather can also be an issue for the trips.

      Kulusuk was originally inhabited because of its remarkably good fishing grounds and experience guides today can bring tourists to these same spots. Whaling and fishing are still an important trade in Kulusuk, so there are many experienced guides in the town.

    • Dog Sledding

      Dog sledding in Kulusuk is still an important means of transport, and is still used by local hunters while seal hunting. There are many opportunities for tourist to catch a ride on a dog sled with some of the locals. There are also tourist offices in the town that can help arrange a trip.
