Travel time is about 20 minutes.

But the best way to arrive is to catch the river cat from [wiki=16653744cf2d01087b9a2baaf908f403]Cardiff Bay[/wiki] to the [wiki=c35818ad0199920ddbf8eb4c2f6cdf8a]Penarth[/wiki] end of the Bay Barrage. Although you will have to walk up the hill to get to the town centre. If the tide is out, it is possible to walk along the coast to Penarth Esplanade.
