The "Wudang Shan" train station is actually in Liu Li Ping. A ride to the mountain gate in a taxi should cost 50 yuan.
There is a bus to the mountain gate for 10 yuan that leaves directly from the train station.

Cheap way: From the Wudang Shan train station to the mountain you can take the Green Express bus that is usually right out side. If it is not there the local bus will pick you up at the main street. You will want to go East (turn right off the small road). Some of the local buses will stop in the Wudan town center in which case you need to transfer busses going the same direction. Your final stop is usually marked by a line of taxis, and a big white gate. From the gate you need to buy a ticket to come up the mountain. Once on the mountain buses are free.
Taxi: A taxi driver will ask you for 60元 to take you to the Gate. It should not be hard to talk them down to 30元, or even 10 if they are desperate that day.

    From Shiyan City
A bus from Shiyan to Wudang Mountain is 10元. If you ask around "wo (wo in wonder) yao (ou in out) qu (sounds like chew) wudangshan"

Wudang Mountain 武当山 (Wudang Shan) is a beautiful mountain with a fascinating history.

Jin Ding 金顶 was built at the same time as the forbidden city as a thanks to the God Zhen Wu for helping the emperor take over the country.
The Carefree Valley 逍遥谷 is a beautiful hike with monkeys, waterfalls, and fresh water pools large enough to take a dip.
Xia Guan 下观 at the end of the Carefree valley is a working farm on an 600 year old temple complex.
Nan Yan 南岩 is a stunning temple built into a cliff face.

Study Kung Fu. Wudang Kung Fu is one of the two most famous styles of Chinese martial arts. There are many schools to choose from in the Wudang area. You can study for a day or for years.

Be wary of schools that ask for full payment in advanced. There are many fake and bad schools. Never agree to pay for more than a month ahead of time. If you don't have any trouble getting a visa than you should not make any commitments to any school before arriving. Every legitimate school has it's positive and negative points. You should try to find a school that fits. If you can not find a independent review of a school on a blog or website, than it is either fake or new. Proceed with cation. I have yet to meet a genuine master that can speak fluent English, but I have met a couple fake masters who can speak pretty well. You have to consider how much time it takes to master kungfu, and how much time it takes to master a foreign language. If a website say's "all of our coaches speak English", or anything similar it is a downright lie.

If you are looking to buy weapons you should look to the sword shop in town on the main road next to the Bank of China. The owner does not speak English, but he will not rip you off. To my knowledge every foreign student from every school buys from him.

Renmin ShangChang or RenShang is an 8-story mall at the corner or Gongyuan Road and Renmin North Road, just across the roundabout. Korean, Japanese, Malay, and Chinese restaurants fill the 5th floor. There is also a small food court at the basement level at the back of the supermarket, as well as KFC, an Italian cafe, and another chinese restaurant.

Wuyan Pedestrian Street in the Wuyan subdistrict, which is a bus stop away from RenShang or 15 minutes walk, has a food court style eatery at the entrance of and inside the supermarket. There is also KFC, Dico's, and other restaurants along the pedestrian street.

McDonald's and KFC, which are both open for 24 hours, can be found 5 and 20 minutes walk from RenShang along Gongyuan Road, respectively.

Daling Lu, a food street 20-minutes walk away from RenShang is a hot spot for delicious food from morning to evening.

Hotels on Wudang Mountain are more expensive than an average backpacker wants to spend on a night.
The Wudang Hostel [http://www.wudanghostel.com] however has beds for only 40元 a night. Otherwise, you can pitch a tent for only 10元. The hike to the hostel is long, but the 73 year old farmer who lives down at the hostel hikes up every day (with vegetables to sell). The hostel is located on the grounds of an abandoned temple along side a beautiful hiking trail. There is food prepared by the local farmers and the prices are reasonable.
