The small airport is served by Maya Island Air, [url=http://www.air-viva.com]air viva[/url] and Tropic Air several times daily, with flights heading north to [wiki=79c53fed650aeadc9445f6015b323abe]Belize City[/wiki] and beyond, and south to [wiki=80f25bdffedd97cbf5716bc80f20da7e]Placencia[/wiki] and on to [wiki=49a23ed9055845727adde2d4bdde1b19]Punta Gorda[/wiki].

Buses ply the main highway, with the same destinations.

Boats depart from the main dock across from the River Front Cafe to just about anywhere you're willing to pay to go, or with frequent service to [wiki=04e8ca95753519ddf91a8f94e0e7bb9b]Tobacco Caye[/wiki], etc.

Central Dangriga is small and walkable, but you may want to grab a taxi (BZ10) if you're headed to or from the airport or the north end of town.

Visit [wiki=c0e0c20105030ef096b70194c4bfe3d4]Cockscomb Basin Wildlife Sanctuary[/wiki]. Buses leave every two hrs aprox. from dangriga to the Mayan center (40 mins). Bus at 5.30am and 7.45am at the busstation. Getting a guide at the mayan centre will be difficult in low season. Try to arrange one from Dangriga. Guide recommended for finding wildlife and safety. Julio can take you up to the head quarters from the bus stop. His house is second on the row at the mayan centre. Look for the taxi writiing on his house. Lodging and camping possible at park headquarters. Bags can be dropped at HQ also if you plan to continue on to Punto Gorda by bus.

Excellent small but well presented hotel 5 minutes walk from the center. Economic (Starts @ $13US a night 2012) and standard rooms (approx $40US) avaliable and a rooftop terrace for relaxing. www.chaleanorhotel.com

*Nice clean, Quiet local hotel, within walking distance of downtown and the market. Restaurant on side, but in low season only on request. Owner phil is very friendly, as is the other crew. Very welcoming setting. Wifi available, no computers. junglehutsresort@gmail.com

*Formerly Val's Backpacker Hostel, D's is an excellent stay in Dangriga. Donna, the owner, is very helpful and kind. She serves a complimentary breakfast each morning until 10 consisting of a delicious waffle and banana with many jams/sauce toppings to choose from, fresh squeezed orange juice and great coffee. There is an extensive book exchange available as well as many guidebooks to look through. The dorms are very clean and large, bunk-bed style. It is obvious she has really thought through what backpackers need. Each bed has it's own fan, plenty of outlets, lines for hanging items by your bed, wooden benches by the bed, large lockers big enough for multiple backpacks (bring your own lock), clean sheets and towels provided. Huge bathroom with hot water shower. Hammocks and seating area outside with a great view of the ocean and park where you can watch a local football (soccer) match. Wifi can be touch and go in the dorms/outside but is perfect in the kitchen/living area where the router is. There are couches in there and two computers, but it also seems to be the family's living area so courtesy should be used. Donna will do your laundry for $2bz/lb. Dorms were $27.25bz as of April 2014.
