Yamba is located 14km east off the Pacific Highway. A Bus station is located adjacent to the river near the highway exit.

A hail-and-ride bus service operates from Grafton to Yamba every hour or so by Busways.

The closest airports are Grafton Airport (1 hour drive south-west), Ballina Airport (80 minutes drive north), Lismore Airport (80 minutes drive north) and Coffs Harbour Airport (90 minutes drive south). These are all regional airports and have limited flights.

Most of Yamba is accessible by walking. From the centre of town it is 40 minutes walk to the furthest parts of Yamba.

The hail-and-ride bus service that operates between Grafton and Yamba and vice-versa stops at a number of locations throughout the town.

There are a handful of taxis around town but you will almost always have to call to get picked up as they are few and far between. $12-$15 should get you anywhere in town by taxi.

A good alternative to a taxi is a limousine (not luxury) and can often work out cheaper than a taxi if you have more than four people.

Excellent view overlooking Pacific ocean and has won a heap of awards for it. Recommend going mid to late afternoon to appreciate the view. Has two bars and a bistro. Shutout is 11pm and close is around 12am. Tap beers are around $3.50-$4.50 for a schooner (2012)
*Renovated in 2011, this Tavern offers a large bar, bistro and restaurant. It runs a free courtesy bus to and from the Tavern throughout Yamba. Well frequented by locals for the cheaper drinks and good food specials especially during the week. The tavern is located on the Clarence River and has excellent views and a large pontoon.
*Large bar area with restaurant, pokies, keno and live sports. Drink prices are some of the best in town at $3-$4 per schooner of beer. Offers a free courtesy bus to and from the premis.
*Large club with 3 bars, restaurant, cafe, large auditorium, live sports, betting and Keno. Offers a free courtesy bus around Yamba. Definitely the cheapest drinks in Yamba and frequented by locals early in the night. Has two pool tables and often live bands on weekends.
*Newest addition to the Yamba night life. Good atmosphere and pretty good food. Drinks are reasonably prices and always has people there. Closes early for drinks if your not staying there but a good place to drink early in the night.
