I was excited to stay here. I saved up money to purchase a trip to Italy for myself and my mother. It was our first time abroad together. I bought my package in February. In March the world shut down due to the Global Pandemic, COVID-19. Now I have been trying to reach the hotel and see if they were willing to move my dates to next year, offer me a voucher for the amount of money I paid, or refund my trip. I understand I have a package that was non-refundable, but it’s a global pandemic, your country has travel restrictions on my country and I am not allowed to enter. They have not been responsive to any of my requests, I had Expedia call on my behalf, no response. I had an agent who said they were offering me a voucher but to speak to my travel insurance. I spoke to them and went back to Expedia and no one can get anyone from the hotel on the line. This hotel effectively stole my money and is refusing to pick up the phone. I will be filling a complaint with my credit card and the attorney general.

The Olympic hotel offers good bang for the buck. This is a budget friendly hotel and expect it is be of average quality. I found the service was great, breakfast buffet was adequate, beds comfortable and yes the entire hotel could benefit from a renovation. It is walking distance to metro, buses and Vatican City. The major tourist attractions are a 30 walk to the center or 10 minute taxi. It is a safe neighborhood with many restaurants and bars close by. I will stay again because of location and price. Before traveling to Rome, I had read some of the reviews of the Grand Olympic. I was a bit apprehensive to stay there, however, after spending a week there, with my family, I was very impressed and satisfied with our choice. The room was big enough to accommodate four adults. It was clean, the water pressure was great with plenty of hot water for a long shower. Also, the room had a refrigerator. I looked forward to starting my morning in the breakfast room. There was plenty of fresh fruit, yogurt, eggs, croissants, cheeses and sliced meat. The location made it easy to get to the Vatican City. The Metro station is seven minutes away on foot. I would definitely stay at the Grand Olympic again and recommend it to any one visiting Rome.

Great location! Walking distance from Vatican, many restaurants, and transportation. There was a mild stench of mold in the shower but it was clean. Most likely just due to the age of the building itself. We had a quad room and it was spacious enough for 4 adults and 6 suitcases. Overall, I would stay again and definitely recommend it.

Hotel location was perfect, close to the sites we wanted to see as well as close to lots of food. The room was set up nice for a family and the view from the room was amazing. However the beds are where this location falls very short of the mark. We could feel each coil of our mattress, pillows had no volume left and felt like rocks. The hotel should update mattresses and pillows.

Hotel rooms are VERY old. Our room also had mould in the bathroom. Breakfast is very mediocre and they serve the same things everyday. A staff member intentionally locked us out of our room for...
