“WARNING: Do NOT recommend at. It was the Worst experience ever. Advised the place was “under new management”; a complete joke. We got lip service the entire time —and no action from the staff the entire time. Checked in room for our daughters vball tournament (others stayed at this “team hotel” and were very dissatisfied also). The rooms smoke detected was removed from the wall, the tub had a constant water drip (and always ran COLD water - not warm/hot available) and not able to shut dripping off, the room had an odd smell and a constant humming noise. We informed the front desk and notes were taken as if something would be done — but nothing! No further action, supervisor/manager contact from maintenance support for these issues. The second night we awoke at 3 AM to the AC turning off and the unit went into FP mode (freeze) and was blowing hot air. We could not turn it off. The room was very warm and we had a dog. My husband went and reported issues again downstairs that morning before leaving to tournament again. Unbeknownst to me, I did the same. I went back to room due to dog and heat. No one ever followed up or called. I called front desk and Austin told me that she’d get with maintenance and call me back. I waited and 20 min; no one called. I called front desk again and was informed that she left. I was told to “unplug” the unit (we thought it was hard wired). I again stated heat/issues and pet concerns. The hotel rep came upstairs and unplugged the unit. The room was still extremely warm. I had the door open to try to help. The rep assured me that it would be handled. We were late at that point for the tournament but was told all would he handle because of pet too. We came back late that day and was advised that maintenance had addressed issues. We walked into a hot room and NOTHING had been done. We immediately on day 2 requested a new room. Was told on the phone another room # and stated husband on his way to get new room card. While he went to get it, the front desk called again and said the incorrect number was given and given another room #. My husband checked room first and then we moved everything. NOONE from the hotel offered to assist or even call to see if everything was ok. The room was better - at least we had warm water in the shower and was able to take a shower now. My daughter had to wash her hair in the bathroom sink in other room bc that was at least warm water. We had to use that warmer water for two days. It truly was awful. Noone ever followed up or gave us any consideration for that AWFUL experience. There are too many other hotel options in the area. Do not let a low-ball hotel price or a continental breakfast fool you into staying here . You will regret it! —NEVER again for us and many others.”

“I’ve stayed in a lot of RVA hotels over the years, never felt the need to make a review. This is not a safe hotel. Do not stay here. I ended up having to call the police, press charges, get a full refund. And that’s not even considering the homeless and wildlife sleeping the the stairwell (they prop all the doors open 24/7). They know their days are numbered, it’s why they don’t answer calls from Choice (corporate) even when the owners get involved (finding out I was sending videos to corporate is when the manager assaulted me) Again, don’t stay here. You won’t be safe. Can’t speak to the quality of housekeeping because they never offered it. Breakfast was nothing special, pool smelled funny. Car-for-hire services have a difficult time. Nothing nearby is walkable.”
