Very convenient and elegant hotel. The staff were very attentive, and we really enjoyed spending time on the terrace with pisco sours. We hiked in on the short Inca trail and were greeted warmly by the friendly staff and a very clean and comfortable room. The food was great and included many vegetarian options. Would certainly recommend to any friends who are planning to visit Machu Picchu.

This hotel is a very special place to stay! It's literally steps from Macchu Picchu entrance. Enjoy the views of Huayna Picchu and the ruins from the hotel long after visitors are calm - beauty and serenity! The orchid garden is like a piece of the Amazon - full of fountains and hummingbirds. You can do yoga with a view or enjoy the many seating areas hidden away from the crowds. It's truly an oasis. Beds are very comfortable and rooms are clean and cozy. Service is perfect! Thank you to John and Manuel for taking care of all the logistical issues like entering Macchu Picchu and getting the bus back to the train station - all without having to wait in line. There are a lot of logistics to deal with so this was priceless. Thank you to Sebastian and Valerie for their warmth and help with our bags! Thank you to Lizbet for our extensive tour of Macchu Picchu. Thank you to Roy and Jehyson our great servers. Food at the Belmond is some of the best we had in Peru. Finally we'd like to mention all the greeting staff who care to know you by name! You'll be happy you stayed here!

My goodness it’s hard to go into detail for the sanctuary lodge. You’re already faced with something magical, ie Machu Picchu at sunrise or sunset, and then we’re going to review a hotel as well? Your mileage may vary of course but for us, this place is hard to beat. We’ve stayed in 5 star hotel/resorts around the world, and the Belmond Sanctuary Lodge does not disappoint. Did we encounter a couple of service issues? Yes. But my goodness they addressed them so well. To be able to stay atop Machu Picchu and thereby easily visit the site twice, and especially see the magnificence of the site at sunrise and sunset. Yes, you’re going to have to throw money at the problem, but yes it’s worth it, so worth it. Could you find better service/quality etc? Sure, but you’re 8,500 ft up a mountain in Peru … so the real answer to that question is no! Miguel in the restaurant and Bruno behind the front desk are true gems and beautifully illustrate why we’re willing to pay over the odds for service and the quality we expect such as the Belmond Sanctuary Lodge.

Rooms are very comfortable, and ours was upgraded to one with a patio. They are small but very well appointed and bath products and towels great. Beds and linen excellent. The restaurant is very good with delicious and artistic dishes..see fotos. It's all inclusive so there is no fuss over what to choose and when I couldn't decide the waiter brought BOTH! Excellent food too! Live peruvian music made the dinner amazing. The mini bar in the room is free! Chocolates and a lighted candle were brought for "evening turn down" too. A welcome drink as well. The back garden and sofas were comfortable and romantic at night. The trail on hotel grounds above gives wonderful views of Huynapicchu and is NOT to be missed especially at sunset. The obviously BIG advantage is proximity to the main entrance... literally 59 feet. Location location location. You can see the buses pulling in from the dining room. Of course you can get a gorgeous room at IncaTerra in Aguas. But we had entrance to the site for 2 days in a row and it was great to get on site the second day early without getting up so early and standing to wait for buses in Aguas. And how nice to come back after the morning site visit to s great breakfast, a hot shower, and rest!! They do handle your overnight bag from Aguas to the hotel which is nice instead of holding it on your lap on the bus! But they did misplace it between the Aguas station and the hotel but found it after an hour. All this comes at a price! One night is $1500!! Most I have ever paid for a hotel night. It was probably once in a lifetime so I did it. But if I were to do it again I would save the $1000 and get a room at IncaTerra in Aguas where we ate lunch before leaving on the train. It's beautiful!

This is a small hotel just steps from the entrance gate, and its location is the main reason to stay here. But it is an excellent hotel - the staff are incredible, providing a highly personal, tailored service with great attention to detail. Rooms are on the small side but very comfortable. The restaurant and bar are excellent - particularly considering the remote location. Make sure you go to the evening pisco tasting. A word on logistics: a Belmond staff member meets your train and takes care of your bags, while you go up to the hotel on the public bus (buy tickets online to avoid a queue, and be aware that the return ticket date must be specified; since most people go up and down same day that is the default, you need to allow for your overnight(s))

Amazing hotel located in front of Machu Picchu entrance. The staff goes above and beyond and the view on the mountains around is priceless. If you can, this is the best hotel to discover Machu Picchu by far!

Very nice Hotel, no need for an air conditioner since temperatures range between 67 to 58 degrees during day time and 58 degrees and below during night time. Price range per room varies depending on the season. We paid $1250 for one night and included all amenities needed, open bar, 3 meals per day, transportation from AGUAS CALIENTE to MACHU PICCHU and back. It was worth every penny, we were treated nicely. The views of the ANDES MOUNTAINS ⛰ as well as the MACHU PICCHU MOUNTAINS were soooo good that we couldn't hold ourselves from taking pictures on every passage. If you're planning to visit the INCA reservation at the MACHU PICCHU MOUNTAINS, we recommend anybody to stay, at least, one night at MACHU PICCHU SANTUARY LODGE. It would be a memorable experience that will last for the rest of your life. I want to thanks GOD for the opportunity to experience the creation of our lives, we would never forget this great place. It is a very special place to stay. The service and food can't be beat. It was so nice to get up early and not have to ride a bus up the mountain to the Machu Picchu entrance. We ate breakfast and walked out of the hotel and in a few steps we were at the entrance. Alot less stressful and a way to get some great pics before the crowds. I highly recommend the Sanctuary Lodge.

We had a great experience at the lodge. It is very conveniently located. Make sure you arrive/leave during regular hours (6am-5pm), because this hotel does not have a private shuttle! Food was great and so was the service! I highly recommend the splurge!

Para a região sem duvida é a melhor opção. Falta um pouco de cuidado e treinamento da equipe de funcionários, tanto no hotel quanto na estação de trem. Deixa a desejar aos outros hotéis da rede Belmond. Fui abordado e agredido verbalmente por um funcionário do parque de Machu Picchu dentro da recepção do Belmond após um erro do segurança do hotel em me identificar como usuário de um drone (que não era meu). Inaceitável. Quartos pequenos. Falta um spa decente, não tem piscina nem sauna. Café da manhã excepcional! Excelentes pães e um belo jantar. Fiz minha compra pelo trivago e o que veio no meu voucher de compra era diferente no hotel. Tentei contato prévio com a equipe do hotel mas os telefones do site e google maps não recebem chamadas. Fiz contato com a central belmond e mesmo assim não consegui contato.

Este país inteiro e eu não conseguimos encontrar uma Coca Diet ... e claro, no topo da montanha neste resort chique (o mesmo em que Katy Perry se hospedou) eles tomaram uma DIET COKE gelada! Eu estava no céu As vistas são de tirar o fôlego e não há nenhum outro hotel no topo próximo a Machu Picchu. Realmente é ideal porque assim você pode visitar Machu Picchu mais de uma vez e em mais de um dia, o que é importante porque às vezes a névoa / neblina impede boas fotos. Eles também tornaram o aniversário de casamento dos meus pais muito especial.

This whole country and I could not find a Diet Coke... and of course at the top of the mountain in this fancy resort (same one that Katy Perry stayed in) they had a cold DIET COKE! I was in heaven. The views are breathtaking and there is literally no other other hotel on the top next to Machu Picchu. It really is ideal because then you can visit Machu Picchu more than once and on more than one day, which is important because sometimes the mist/fog prevents good pictures. They also made my parent's wedding anniversary very special.

Es el restaurant del hotel, es simple, el servicio esta ok y la comida es rica. Nada muy especial para destacar. Elegimos la sopa de entrada que viene servida en un pan casero gigAnte y 2 platos de carne. Tambien almorzamos al dia siguiente, muy rico!Is the restaurant from the hotel, the service is ok and the food is good. Nothing special to highlitght. We chose the soup as starter that comes with a gigantic homemade bread and 1 meat dishes. We also had lunch the day after, very good!

This hotel was so beautiful and conveniently located. I loved that the meals and mini bar were all inclusive. The first day we arrived I asked for a cup of mint tea and it was served beautifully along with a couple of delicious cookies. Our room didn't have a view but the hotel cleverly places mirrors outside the windows that reflect the greenery planted below the window. The staff was very friendly and helpful. It was my daughter's birthday and without any prompting they brought out a special dessert for her which actually brought tears to her eyes. The walk in the gardens is lovely and the spa was a wonderful experience. It's such a perfect location if your traveling with someone who can't endure a long day in the ruins. They have a serene nearby location that will take care of all their needs until the rest of the party returns for the day. I'm so grateful to have had the privilege of staying at this hotel.

Hoy estuvimos en este lugar luego de haber visitado la ciudad de Machu Pichu. Como siempre fuimos los 3 viajeros de la familia , mi hija y esposa. Decidimos darnos un gusto y probamos el servicio buffet del restaurant y quedamos plenamente satisfechos, nos gustó mucho los platos que pudimos saborear y además su gente es muy cordial. Ojalá lo pueda repetir.

UNQUESTIONABLY MAGICAL. Edit: one complaint, the guests. The service here is amazing, and the workers we interacted with were highly skilled individuals. This $700 room was a highly rare purchase for my wife and I, so we are not used to the snarky entitled people that have the privilege to afford to stay here. Not everyone of course, but the lack of kindness, eye contact, demanding voice....we were discusted with some of the behaviors. I guess this is normal?? If you are lucky enough to be a person who can afford these room, pay kind attention to these workers, they are some of the classiest people I've ever met, unlike some of their patrons.

Poco se puede decir de este lugar, pues todo se quedaría corto. Su clase y lujo hablam por si mismos. Si tienes medios y oportunidad para quedarte aquí no lo dudes lo más mínimo, no te arrepentirás. Es bonito, lujoso, increíblemente situado en las puertas de la ciudad Inca y con una calidad y un servicio extraordinarios.

A comida do hotel é muito boa, o staff é cordial, a massagem é boa. Porém, os elogios param por aí. O hotel é minúsculo e a única área que oferecem aos hóspedes é uma pequena varanda com barulho constante dos ônibus subindo e descendo de Águas Calientes. Não tem piscina, sauna, vista para o parque, trilha de caminhada, benefício de entrada mais cedo no parque (pela proximidade) nada. Os quartos são pequenos. Se você deseja algum serviço de snacks ou drinks tem que descer ao restaurante e pedir, não tem um bar ou funcionários disponíveis na área da varanda. Vi um grupo comer e beber as 13h, às 18h as coisas ainda não haviam sido recolhidas, deixando o pequeno espaço da varanda imundo. Se você procura boa comida fique aqui, se esse não é seu foco o preço é alto demais pelo que oferecem. Existem outros hotéis 5 estrelas em águas calientes por 1/3 do preço.
