Lovely historical site and a nice hotel, feels like travel in time. Very good food and comfortable large rooms. Unfortunately spa doesn't have a pool and to my taste was not the highest quality...lacked good ventilation and ambiance, reception should be more engaged , we were not informed that there is a chapel in the hotel and this should be told at our check in

Staff is wonderful. Everyone’s polite friendly and willing to help.
My room was quiet, modern and clean. I can’t say it has much charm in the design, but it is adequate. There was no turn down service, and the hotel only provide one bottle of 750ml water complimentary per stay.
The breakfast was very simple. I was surprised how little options were given, since it was a five star hotel. There were too many hot food to choose from, except boiled eggs, poached eggs, scrambled eggs and one style of sausage and bacon. No a la cart menu for breakfast. They did have a good pastry selection and Belgium waffles. But it is not a luxury five star breakfast.

I have had better service in hostels. This place is nowhere near what a palace should be.
The minibar had leftover opened bottles from the previous guests, the spa was not working, the bathroom had damaged plumbing and the reception staff who welcomed us was rude.
I usually don't leave reviews but having to pay so much for such a poor experience I want to ensure none else gets tricked.

Absolutely superb. We stayed in Room 516 for 4 nights and I cant imagine staying anywhere else in Brugge. The rooms were clean and spacious, the restaurant/bar was incredible, and the location was perfect. The hotel is essentially 15 minutes or less away from everything by walking. Plus, the hotel has an amazing history to it as well.
A big thank you to the entire staff from the couple in 516 who stayed from May 17- May 21. Thank you for the perfect room and for getting us the large bed! Brugge was unforgettable and it all started with our stay at the Dukes!
